What is the UA policy on taking a “Mental Health Day”
The University of Alaska’s benefits page list several qualifying reasons to use sick leave. A “Mental Health Day” is not listed which presents the question, does a “Mental Health Day” count as sick leave? Thank you.

West Ridge gym?
Back on Oct. 31, a survey was sent out asking whether employees would support a small gym located in the basement of the West Ridge Research Building. I haven’t heard anything about the proposal since then. Is it going forward, and if so, what are the details? And has Nanook Recreation determined whether people would … Continue reading West Ridge gym?

What are the Constitution Hall hours?
What are the Constitution Hall hours? The UAF website says 6:30 am-10 pm but I have run into times where the door stays locked past 6:30 am. I work nights on campus, getting off work at 6:30 am, and sometimes am unable to access my campus mailbox at a time that is convenient to me.

Are the Strategic Plan goals prioritized?
The chancellor listed the goals for UAF in a recent Cornerstone article. I wanted to know, are the goals in a priority list? If so, why is “revitalize key academic programs, from occupational endorsement to Ph.D.” last on the list when that seems like the key to most of the other priorities?

Single sign-on at library
It would be nice if the library also used single sign on. It is utilized all across the UA system, why not there? It seems archaic to have to make a phone call to receive a PIN that you don’t even get to set yourself.

Response from UAF administration on the staff morale survey results?
Question 1: Will there ever be a response from UAF administration regarding the staff morale survey results? Question 2: Why hasn’t leadership or administration made any comment on the results of the morale survey? One of the big sore points in there was lack of communication by leadership and by no one responding it really goes to … Continue reading Response from UAF administration on the staff morale survey results?

Convenient recycling bins on a two-way street
UAF used to have recycling bins conveniently located on a two-way street across from the SRC…then they moved to a one-way street on the edge of campus.  When will the university move the recycling bins to a convenient location on a two-way street near the center of campus?

Since the digital shuttle bus schedules at the heated bus stops and Wood Center can’t be scrolled by the viewer, would you please reformat the display (reduce the size of the font for example) so the entire schedule fits on the screen? Improve quality, variety and quantity of food at M3
Every day it feels like the hunger games in the Murie building. If i don’t get here early enough, I might not get one of the 3 breakfast sandwiches they bring here every day. Vice chancellor’s hockey comments
In the following link https://www.ktva.com/story/37418374/uaf-has-big-plans-for-its-hockey-program Champagne appears to be saying that hockey has its beginning in the slave community and that the current goaltending style originated in the “colored hockey league” This appears to suggest that 1. our vice chancellor of athletics is, at best, not very knowledgeable regarding one of the most important sports for … Continue reading Vice chancellor’s hockey comments

Faculty Senate undergraduate committees
Why is there not one faculty senate committee that has full oversight over undergraduate curriculum and policies? I asked who I should take an issue to and got the, “well it depends . . . ” answer. Internal hiring? What’s the deal?
I’m curious why so many job openings within the UA system are posted as internal hire but that status doesn’t extend to students, alumni or former staff. Is there a reason that HR is closed off to external candidates for so many job posts?

Why is old food being served?
This morning, I left the MBS Campus Cache with a very dried out banana bread (which the girl using the togs should’ve noticed the hardness of it), and do not understand why these items are continuously served to students, staff, and faculty. Selection process for enrollment plan steering committee
How was the steering committee for Strategic Enrollment Planning selected? Who is responsible for student safety?
Regarding VC Champagne’s response below – who is responsible for the safety of students? Obviously, we all are. But who does the responsibility fall under? Holiday lights
Comment 1: The holiday lights on the trees around campus look great. Love the blue & white ones all over! The entrance on Thompson Drive is of a whole different character. Is this a UAF display? Install an EV charging station on campus
Hello, there are an increasing number of people that own either full EV or extended range hybrid cars here in Fairbanks (I have a Chevy Volt).  However, there are very few options for rapid (level 2) charging of those EVs.  It would be great for UAF to have at least one parking spot (probably in … Continue reading Install an EV charging station on campus
